25th Anniversary Symposium
In commemoration of Casa Latina’s 25th Anniversary, we will be hosting a symposium entitled, “Honoring our Past, Shaping our Future.” This momentous event will reflect on our rich history and contributions while looking forward to an exciting future. The celebration will feature a series of engaging programs that showcase the diverse experiences and identities within our collective. Alumni panels and keynote speakers, including founding members and future leaders, will share success stories and the impact of Casa Latina over the years. We will also launch new initiatives to strengthen our community, including resources and services designed to attract and support matriculating students. Our commitment to building a loving landing space for all students – undergraduate, graduate, and professional – remains at the heart of our mission. Join us for a special Awards Luncheon as we honor the outstanding achievements and contributions of our alumni, students, and community members. This celebratory event will recognize those who have exemplified the spirit and mission of Casa Latina through their leadership, service, and dedication to the Latinx community.
The following honors will be presented:
Friend of La Casa Award
This award honors a person who has made a lasting impact on the Casa Latina community and continues to exemplify the values of Casa Latina. The recipient has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and the advancement of Latinx communities, leaving a legacy that inspires future generations.
Trailblazer Award
This award recognizes a member of the Penn community who has achieved significant professional success in their field. The recipient has excelled in their career, demonstrating excellence, innovation, and leadership while remaining connected to and supportive of the Latinx community.
Community Empowerment Award
This award is dedicated to a Philadelphia community member who has made extraordinary contributions to the Latinx community. The recipient has shown exceptional dedication to advocacy, education, and empowerment, working tirelessly to improve the lives of others and strengthen the community.
Emerging Leader Award
This award celebrates a current student who has shown exceptional promise and potential in their academic, extracurricular, and leadership pursuits. The recipient embodies the spirit of Casa Latina, demonstrating a commitment to social justice, community engagement, and academic excellence.
Service and Dedication Award
This award honors a member of the Casa Latina community who has shown exceptional dedication to volunteerism and service within the Penn Latinx community and beyond. The recipient has devoted time and energy to giving back, whether through mentoring, community organizing, or other forms of support, making a significant difference in the lives of others.
Cultural Ambassador Award
This award recognizes a person who has been an outstanding advocate for Latinx culture and heritage. The recipient has worked to promote and preserve Latinx traditions, arts, and history, helping to build a greater understanding and appreciation of Latinx contributions to society.
